Description | This course is for you if you’re an experienced language-teaching professional or have a language- and linguistics-based degree but little or no teaching experience.
The Sussex Centre for Language Studies is concerned with all aspects of language teaching and learning, including teacher education and language classroom research. This course focuses on the practical application of theory and research to boost your career prospects in English Language Teaching (ELT) and related fields of work. Our options, seminars and teaching practice are tailored to reflect your previous experience and interests.
You’ll focus on the theoretical and practical issues that impact on the teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and English as a Second Language (TESL/TESOL).
You’ll develop your knowledge and critical understanding of current theories and research in language acquisition. And you’ll gain confidence in relating these to the practice of English language pedagogy. | | |
