Requirements for Canadian Students

Applicants must meet both general and specific program requirements. Applicants following a Canadian system must meet a minimum %70 grade in English 11 or 12, plus at least 6 additional academic Grade 12 courses (recommended, not required). Requirements for International Students

English is the language of instruction at UBC. All prospective students must demonstrate English-language competency prior to admission. There are nine different ways to meet the English Language Admission Standard. General requirement: graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school. Procedure for Canadian Students

Applications for UBC must be submitted online by December 1 for scholarship applicants, and by January 15 for all other applicants. If you are currently attending a secondary school in another Canadian province or territory, have your school send in transcripts in March or April. Final admission decisions for most programs will be made in April/May. Procedure for International Students

The University welcomes applications from outstanding international students. Well-qualified applicants from recognized secondary schools, colleges, and universities will be considered, as well as students applying as transfer students from recognized universities and colleges. Applications from short-term visiting students from other recognized universities are also accepted. See Undergraduate Admissions to apply online.
