Requirements for Canadian Students

Graduation from a high school or a reputable home schooling program is necessary. High school transcripts are required.

Requirements for International Students

1. To enter any program, you must have a personal relationship with God through his son, Jesus Christ. 2. To enter the English Language Institute, you must have completed high/secondary school and demonstrate a basic level of English proficiency. A commitment to our community living standard is required. 3. To enter the College, you must have completed high/secondary school, met university or college entrance requirements, and demonstrate a high level of English proficiency. 4. To enter the Seminary or graduate school, you must possess a bachelor’s degree from an acceptable college/university and demonstrate a high level of English proficiency. You must obtain a study permit. You will need an acceptance letter from Providence College and Seminary, an acceptable medical report, and proof of sufficient finances. It takes from 3 weeks to 4 months to get a study permit depending on the country from which you are applying. If you are coming for Intensive English for 6 months or less, you may only need a visitor’s visa. In addition, if your home country is on the list at Citizenship and Immigration's Web site (www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.html), you will need a Temporary Resident Visa to enter Canada.

Procedure for International Students

In order to apply, you must send a non-refundable $150.00 (CAD funds) application fee. The application fee can be sent in the form of a bank draft, money order, major credit card, or inter-bank transfer. Send the application fee to: Attention: International Admissions Officer Providence College and Theological Seminary General Delivery 10 College Crescent Otterburne, Manitoba R0A 1G0 Canada The application fee should be accompanied by a letter indicating if you want to apply to the College, Seminary, or Intensive English. The application can be sent to you by mail, fax, or e-mail. When you have completed and returned the application with pictures and official transcripts to the Admissions Office, your application will be evaluated. If your application is denied, you will receive a letter telling you that you have been denied. In order to receive a full acceptance letter from Providence, a $500.00 CAD security deposit is required. Although $150.00 CAD application fee is not refundable, the $500.00 CAD security deposit will be returned to you when you arrive at Providence. Please note that school fees must be paid at the beginning of each semester (tuition, room and board, and library/student fees). Fees and deposits can be paid by bank draft, money order, visa, or inter-bank transfer in Canadian or US funds. We suggest that you apply at least seven months before you wish to begin studying. Studies can begin in any semester. College semesters begin September and January and Seminary semesters begin September, January, and May.
