Procedure for International Students

Visitor Visa and Student Visa Procedures: Visitor's Visa (Tourist Visa): Students who register in a program in one of our schools for a period of less than 90 days can come and study in Canada as tourists. They must have, when they arrive in Canada: a valid passport, a Letter of Registration from the school, proof of sufficient funds to cover expenses during their stay and a Canadian Visitor's Visa if required to enter Canada. Student Authorization (Student Visa): Students who intend to stay and study for longer than 90 days in Canada must obtain a Student Authorization Visa. Since Canada has two levels of Government, Federal and Provincial, foreign students who wish to study in the province of Quebec must obtain a Certificate of Acceptance of Quebec (CAQ) together with the Federal Student Authorization Visa before proceeding to Canada. The CAQ must be obtained before the Canadian Immigration issues the student visa. It is relatively easy to obtain a CAQ and a Student Authorization Visa although the procedure may take several weeks. Canadian Immigration requires that students applying for a visa make their application at least eight weeks prior to the commencement of their classes. Application Procedure for the Montreal International Language Centre: For students studying for less than 90 days: 1. When applying, please send: a. The Application Form with complete details of the requested services and payment. 2. We will the issue a Letter of Registration to be used for immigration purposes.
