Eligibility The CIBC STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Entrance Award is valued at $5,000 CAD and is open to full-time undergraduate students (domestic and international) entering their first year in any program at Laurier. A total of 15 recipients annually. Eligible candidates must identify with one or more of the following equity-deserving groups:
  • Black students
  • Indigenous students
  • Students with disabilities
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate financial need. Priority will be given to those registered in STEM programs who meet the above criteria. While STEM program enrollment is a preference, the application will be open to all first-year students. STEM program enrollment will be assessed during the adjudication process. Note: The availability and value of this competitive award program is subject to change. Exclusions
  • Bachelor of Education (BEd) programs are not eligible, as this is a recruitment-focused award for first-entry undergraduate STEM students.
  • Students entering with advanced standing (e.g., transfer credits) will not be considered.
How to Access Your Application Once Started
  • Click the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” tab.
  • Click the "View My Applications" link.
  • Click to "View/Modify" your CIBC STEM Entrance Award.
  • When your application is complete, click the "Submit" button.
  • Visit the "View my Applications" tab to ensure the application shows as "submitted".
