If your dream is to work with young children, this course gives you a deep understanding of early years education, preparing you for a wide range of careers or for further study to become a teacher. You will develop an inter-disciplinary knowledge of how children develop in learning and thinking in their early years (0-7 years).
The course has been mapped to Graduate Practitioner Competencies and is classed as 'full and relevant' by the Department for Education. This means that, provided you successfully complete a total of 80 hours of practical experience and meet all the required competencies, you will have the status of Graduate Practitioner. To meet the requirements for practical experience, you undertake 80 days of University-organised placements over the course of the degree in settings across the age range (birth to 7 years). |
