Description:This Ontario College Diploma program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to carry out the tasks performed in two main functional areas of libraries and information resource centres: technical services and public services. Technical services involve manual and automated operations related to acquiring, processing and organizing all types of informational material. Public services involve assisting or teaching clients in finding or using information resources, in print and electronic format.

Students test their knowledge and skills through field placements in schools, public, government and academic libraries, archives, records or information management organizations. To qualify for this diploma, you must complete the program within eight years.
