|Description:||There are over 10 million commercial, office, institutional and residential buildings in Canada alone and each one has to be operated by a trained professional. Today's complex building systems require skilled operators to maintain and operate commercial, institutional and residential buildings in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner. This College Certificate program trains technicians on the functioning of connected and interdependent systems including heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical power, lighting, water and air supply. Safety, sustainability and applicable codes, acts, standards and regulations are emphasized throughout this program.
To qualify for this certificate, you must complete the program within three years. After completing the Building Environmental Systems (BES) Operator Class II certificate, students may wish to progress to the BES Operator Class I certificate.
