This course is about physical geography. It's focused on the processes that underlie changes in our environment, from dryland and glacial processes to atmosphere and ocean dynamics. In the first year, about half the course is made up of compulsory modules in physical geography. We also teach the practical skills you need to investigate real-world problems such as desert dust sources and climate change. The second and third years are a mix of compulsory and optional modules. Third year options include international field class modules. You can broaden your knowledge with modules in human geography.
Throughout the course, you're free to take one module each semester in another department. You could use this time to learn a language or study a related subject such as politics or economics. This course is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society.
