Description:

Our Law with Criminology* is a three year qualifying law degree. The course focuses on key legal topics and a variety of different aspects of criminology, including crime, criminal justice and criminal behaviour. The law modules are predominantly delivered by professionally qualified lawyers with a high level of face-to-face tuition. The course has a practical focus, with real-world application of the law and criminology. Employability is integrated into the course to give you the academic knowledge and key transferable skills which are in demand by today’s employers. This course is ideal for students looking to pursue a career in the legal sector or, more specifically, within the criminal justice system. The first year is a Foundation year, which focuses on developing an understanding of the legal sector and the key skills required to undertake the full degree course. Awarded Gold in 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework.

Applicants who possess 48 UCAS points from a maximum of 3 A Levels or equivalent qualifications, plus GCSE Maths at Grade D/3 and GCSE English at Grade C/4, will receive an offer following a successful interview with an academic as part of the admisions process which will take place either face-to-face or via phone/skype.

A non-standard application route is also available. Any applicant with no or limited formal qualifications will be invited in-centre to complete an in-house numeracy and literacy test (for those without GCSE Maths and English at D/3 and C/4 respectively), as well as a formal face-to-face interview. They will also need to provide 2 years of appropriate work experience evidenced in a full CV and one reference.
