Description:This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program delivered in a blended format of online learning, evenings and weekends offers students the opportunity to enhance their existing skills to succeed in the exciting and expanding field of environmental management and assessment. The program also consists of practical and field experiences allowing students to acquire a range of interdisciplinary techniques used by those at the forefront of environmental management practice.

With escalating demand for environmental awareness, there is an increasing need for highly-skilled personnel capable of working in the fields of environmental management and assessment. This program builds proficiency and adds depth of knowledge in environmental sciences and environmental modelling. Students complete a phase 1 environmental site assessment (ESA) and learn how to prepare a phase 2 ESA, including proposal, costing and report preparation. Graduates acquire expertise in a range of disciplines, including - but not limited to - GIS, ecological conservation, project management, environmental policy and reporting, and contaminant control.

Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 88]

Applicants with International transcripts must provide proof of the subject specific requirements noted above along with proof of either: IELTS-International English Language Testing Service-Overall band of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band; OR TOEFL-Internet-based (iBT)-overall 88, with the minimum of 22 in each component: Reading 22; Listening: 22; Speaking: 22; Writing: 22.

Additional Admission Requirements:
    Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma or Degree in areas of science, applied science, engineering. An arts degree in environmental studies will also be considered.
