This collaborative graduate program prepares students for careers in biomedical engineering and provides them with the opportunity to advance their own research, tap into Ryerson’s leading faculty-based research and work on industry-related projects. Throughout the program, students are supported by a network of experienced faculty supervisors and have opportunities for training at research hospitals such as St. Michael’s Hospital and the University Health Network. This program supports student development in biomedical engineering R&D — which is ranked as the number-one job in the health-care industry — to meet the demand for better medical devices, more sophisticated medical equipment and improved biomedical procedures.

| Application Notes : | If you have not completed two or more years, full-time, at a Canadian university or a university at which English was the primary language of instruction, or have not completed a graduate degree at a university where English was the primary language of instruction, you will be required to provide certification of English language proficiency through one of the accepted examinations listed below. Scores are valid for two years from the test date.

Candidates applying to the Master's program in Biomedical Engineering need to have completed at least a four-year undergraduate degree in engineering, or a related field in the biomedical sciences (e.g. biology, biochemistry, physiology, immunology, genetics, etc.), from a recognized institution.
A minimum grade point average (GPA) or equivalent of 3.00/4.33 (B) for MEng and 3.33/4.33 (B+) for MASc in the last two years of study is required for admission consideration. |
