Mathematics is a important human endeavour, and one which has had important consequences and application in many fields and in of itself. Graduate studies in Mathematics provides the opportunity for the learning, teaching, and creation of new and advanced mathematics. Our graduate programs represent one of the most vibrant and forward looking in Canada, and our faculty represent research interests across a wide spectrum of key areas of the Mathematical Sciences.

    Applicants to the PhD program should have completed a Master's degree, or a Bachelor's degree with CGPA of at least 3.5, or equivalent. A student who is already working towards an MSc at Simon Fraser may be permitted to transfer to the PhD program before completion of the MSc but such cases are rare.
