The creative industries have always been culturally important, and today they are crucial to national development. New Zealand needs skilled people who can drive the delivery of creative ideas from the drawing board to the marketplace.
The Creative Industries major in the Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) focuses on management in the creative sector, cultural policy and its place in everyday life, and working with teams on the production of cultural goods and services. Because this is still a fairly new area, full of rich opportunities for research, we encourage our students to continue into postgraduate study.
