Description:

Do you have a passion for education and the importance of fostering development in the early years?

As an early childhood educator, you support early learning in a wide variety of educational programs and centres.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, including English – any Grade 12 (C) or (U), or equivalent. Recommended courses include Individuals and Families in a Diverse Society – Grade 12 (M), Issues in Human Growth Development – Grade 12 (M), Parenting and Human Development – Grade 12 (E) or Parenting – Grade 11 (O), Living and Working with Children – Grade 11 (C), and Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology – Grade 11 (M). Volunteer, co-operative or community service work experience with groups of young children aged 0-5 years is also recommended.
