Description:

The Schulich Diploma in Intermediate Accounting (DIAc) is an 8-month graduate diploma program designed to provide a foundation in the field of Professional Accountancy in Canada. Students will gain a thorough understanding of financial and management accounting fundamentals and grow their understanding of the sub-disciplines of the field.

The core curriculum is designed to thoroughly introduce students to accounting concepts such as reporting, analysis, capital structure and financial planning. Topics incorporate key principles for management and ethical considerations in a wider global context, and prepare students to pursue their next steps in a professional accountancy career.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum B average in the last two full years (or equivalent) of academic work. PLEASE NOTE: While students with 3-year degrees may apply for admission to this program, a 3-year degree will not qualify a student to be eligible for the CPA designation as the professional accrediting body requires a 4-year degree. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that applicants to the program complete the equivalent to a 4-year undergraduate degree prior to application.
    Test Scores:
    • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 100]
    Additional Admission Requirements:
    • Letter(s) of Reference
    • Resume/Curriculum Vitae
