Description:

The programme meets the needs of a growing cultural heritage industry embracing the arts, culture and heritage. Students are provided with opportunities to develop skills in curation, interpretation, coordination and planning geared towards developing a career in the cultural heritage industry. The programme draws upon expertise across the faculty in arts, culture, philosophy and religion.

It meets an emerging distinct discipline - over the past few years there has been a growth in socio-cultural, socio-economic and socio-political interpretations of ‘The Arts’ and Heritage in particular. The convergence of these interests has been placed under the holistic banner of Cultural Heritage by international agencies (UNESCO) and by the Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport but what is evident is that UK has been slow to formally adapt to and meet this change – this programme aims to address this deficiency.
