Description:The curriculum for the Child and Youth Care diploma is cutting edge and provides a strong theoretical and practical foundation for your future career. Students will learn to develop and implement a range of prevention, intervention and treatment strategies based on a foundational understanding of human development, family systems and cultural diversity.

Some of the tasks students will undergo are: develop and implement prevention, intervention and treatment strategies based on an understanding of human development, family systems and cultural diversity, guide at-risk youth through their daily challenges, teach social and life skills and support efforts to manage behaviour, and facilitate personal growth and positive change in young people.

Applicants must have completed their Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as well as one Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U). Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses).
