Description:This two-year Ontario College Diploma program (Delievered in a compressed format over 46 weeks in Pembroke) provides students with the theoretical and practical skills required to work as administrative professionals in the public or private sector.

Students develop knowledge and skills related to formatting and preparation of office documentation, Canadian business and legal concepts and executive office procedures. Emphasis is on the practical demands of the job: organizing activities, preparing professional documents, interacting with the workforce, meeting deadlines, prioritizing activities, working under pressure, accepting responsibility and demonstrating initiative. Students participate in simulations dealing with realistic problems and solutions as well as develop high-level word processing, presentation, Internet, email, project management, spreadsheet and database skills in a network environment. Students are required to participate in a field placement.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. Applicants with an OSSD showing senior English and/or Mathematics courses at the Basic Level, or with Workplace or Open courses, will be tested to determine their eligibility for admission; OR Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate; OR General Educational Development (GED) certificate; OR Mature Student status (19 years of age or older and without a high school diploma at the start of the program). Eligibility may be determined by academic achievement testing for which a fee of $50 (subject to change) will be charged.
