Progress from a Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate to a nursing diploma and the professional designation of a Registered Practical Nurse upon completion of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Exam. Experience collaborative learning the methodology used where you are responsible for your own learning and for contributing to the learning of your peers. Faculty members provide structure and act as facilitators through consultation, assisting with group collaborative activities and providing feedback.

Applicants are required to submit proof of completion of the following courses: Grade 12 English C or U, Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics C, M or U (M or U recommended), and 2 Grade 11 or 12 Sciences. These are the same requirements for applying directly to the Practical Nursing program. Applicants are also required to submit proof of completion of a Personal Support Worker Certificate program in Accredited Ontario Colleges since 2006. Applicants are also required to take the Health Occupation Aptitude Examination (HOAE) test ($50 fee) arranged with the Mohawk Pre-Admission Testing Centre, and complete a questionnaire which will be reviewed by the academic area. Students whose first language is not English are expected to prove their proficiency with one of the following: successful completion of GAS-EAP (478) Program Level 8 with 70%; TOEFL minimum score of 550 (80 Internet based); IELTS minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5; or an Ontario Secondary School Diploma & English Credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued from a public school board.
