Description:

This program gives the student the skills and occupational competencies necessary in the industry today based upon the Ministry for Children and Family Development approved curriculum. Students who have completed their ECE Basic can pursue specialized studies in Infant & Toddler development and/or Children with Exceptionalities.

Students who take the Infant & Toddler program will learn more about working with children from birth to three years of age. Students will gain more specialized training in infant and toddler development, positive guidance strategies, and developmentally appropriate activity planning. Students who take the Children with Exceptionalities program will learn about working with children who require extra support in child care settings. Students will learn observation techniques that they can apply when developing individualized care plans for children.

    Grade 12 / GED or mature student status. Applicants must successfully complete the admissions interview and entrance assessment.
