Description:

Coaching takes place in a range of different contexts and this course looks to develop students to become high performing coaches in the context in which they work. The main aim of the programme is to provide a basis for career development into, or through, the sports coaching profession. Sports Coach UK identifies that ''Sports coaching is central to developing, sustaining and increasing participation in sport. It drives better performances and increased success as well as supporting key social and economic objectives throughout the UK''.

On this course, you will consider a range of contemporary issues and practices using modern methods and approaches in areas such as developing expertise, reflective practice and mentoring, sport psychology and talent identification. You will have opportunities to use your own coaching experiences and to further develop and refine your own coaching practice and style. Collaborative learning will also enable you to share good practice in the application of sports coaching to further develop yourself as a sports coach for the future.
