Today's law enforcement environment is complex. Employees in public and private organizations are increasingly being called upon to perform specialized investigations, supervision, and enforcement and regulatory compliance functions.

The Bachelor of Law Enforcement Studies (BLES) provides expanded opportunities in the study of law enforcement and public safety and will position you to be sought-after candidates in a highly competitive recruiting process. Our training will prepare you for success by developing your leadership skills, and enhancing your inter-personal communications, critical thinking and ethical decision making.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
The competitive standard for admission is a related two-year diploma or associate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum average of 72%, including a minimum of 72% in English. Applicants with a GPA that is less than the competitive standard for admission should still apply as those applications will be considered based on space in the program.
OR
Applicants must have completed the requirements for the Peace Officer General Training program (or its equivalent, i.e. Graduates of the RCMP Basic Training Program or the Ontario Police College) and at least 3 years of full-time service in a recognized public safety agency with a Prior Learning Assessment that would allow for 60 credits to be granted towards the completion of the degree program. Applicants will must also have high school graduation with grade 12 English, with a minimum grade level of a C, or the approved equivalencies.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 220] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 570]
Application Notes : International students must have achieved at least 220 TOEFL CBT, or 570 paper-based, or equivalent.
