Description:

Social and therapeutic horticulture is the purposeful use of horticultural activities to promote health and well-being and facilitate social inclusion. This exciting new course is designed to offer people, who are working in horticulture or therapy, the opportunity to further develop their skills in social and therapeutic horticulture. They will also reflect upon, debate and critique their current practice. This programme is the first to be developed in the UK and will build upon Coventry's well-established and vocationally focussed qualification, the Professional Development Diploma.

  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]
Application Notes : Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5. Pre-sessional English is avilable if required.
Additional Admission Requirements:
    Applicants should hold the equivalent of a 2:2 undergraduate degree in Health, Social Care, Education or Horticulture. Applicants with relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis. Note that applicants will need to organise their own work-based learning in a horticultural project in the UK. Where candidates do not have contact with a social and therapeutic horticulture service support can be given to gain engagement.
