Description:

Professional Paramedics are ready to face the unexpected challenges that come with providing emergency care in the pre hospital environment or out of hospital healthcare to an ageing or diverse population. This course aims to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a professional, HCPC registered Paramedic.

This course runs in 2016/17.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  • 3 of   English  or   Science  or   Mathematics 
Applicants are required to have 5 GCSEs at grade A*–C including English Language, Mathematics and Science or specified equivalents. Please note we accept Functional Skills level 2 in Mathematics and communications as equivalents.

Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7.0]
Application Notes : Applicants with English as a foreign language are required to have an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with no component lower than 6.5. Pre-sessional English is available if required.

Caring experience essential: this can be paid or voluntary experience that relates to caring for individuals. Applicants will be required to attend an interview and complete a literacy and numeracy test. Satisfactory health clearance and enhanced Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (formally CRB Disclosure) required. You will also need to sit a maths test as part of the selection process.
