Description:

Paramedics respond to acute medical or traumatic emergencies as part of frontline NHS ambulance teams. The role is physically and mentally demanding and involves delivering emergency treatment and life-saving procedures in challenging conditions. With ambulance services providing an increasing number of treatments, it is important that professionals have the right knowledge and skills to deliver these in a pressurised environment.

If you already work in the ambulance service, our DipHE Paramedic Science will help you take your career to the next level. Designed and delivered in partnership with the South Western Ambulance Service, it will equip you with the knowledge and skills to thrive in an expanding role in emergency and unplanned care environments.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants must be employed in the emergency ambulance service in a role which requires them to attend to the acutely sick and injured.
