Description:

Engineers play an important role solving the 21st century problems faced by industry and society. As a result, there is high demand for graduates with a broad-based approach to engineering problem-solving and a sound understanding of multi-disciplinary projects. If you have successfully completed an Engineering Foundation degree, an HND or international qualification requiring conversion, this course provides a one-year top-up to an honours degree. Building on the foundation of your previous studies, you can choose pathways in manufacturing or electronics. On manufacturing you will study subjects such as mechanical design, manufacturing systems, alternative energy, operations and quality management, and automated manufacture. On electronics, you may examine robotics, signal processing, computer networks and embedded systems.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
Applicants normally hold a HND or Foundation Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline, with content meeting the pre-requisites of the modules on the programme. These include CAD and computer simulation (manufacturing pathway); Programming in C/C++ and signal processing (electronics pathway). Please visit the program website for further details on admission routes.
Application Notes : The application process usually starts the September prior to the year of entry. Visit the website for the latest key dates within the undergraduate application cycle.

Applicants need to submit a personal statement. Schools and Colleges will work with students to ensure their personal statement is completed correctly and to offer advice along the way.
