| A Master's by Research (MA) allows you to undertake a one year (full time) research degree. It contains little or no formal taught component. Such programmes are attractive to those wanting a briefer research degree than a PhD. Research Master's students choose a specific project to work on and have a greater degree of independence in their work than is the case with a taught masters course. Independent research work is supported by an extensive range of seminars, workshops and research fora. |

For Canadian residents: A Bachelor degree (Honours) / Baccalaureat de type Honours is required. A minimum of 2.3 on a 4 Point GPA or a 5.2 on a 9 Point GPA is required for most masters courses. A small number of our masters courses require 3.2 on a 4 point GPA or 7.2 on a 9 point GPA. |
