St. Mary’s latest offering , a four-year Bachelor of Arts with a Major in History is a rich and varied program that will take you on a voyage of discovery which spans the origins of human civilization to the present day. After completing a core course on the History of Western Thought and foundations courses in Canadian and World History, students complete senior courses in the fields of North American, European, World, Intellectual and Social and Cultural History as well as Research Methods. In the final year, students complete a capstone course on the Historians’ Craft and may choose between a major research or service learning project.

Applicants must have received a high school diploma and must have an average of at least 65 per cent on five 30-level subjects listed, including: English Language Arts 30-1 or ENGL 030 (St. Mary’s University equivalent of 30-1), one of: Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 30-2 or MATH 030 (St. Mary’s University equivalent of Mathematics 30-1).
