Description:

Sprott’s Master of Accounting (MAcc) provides a gateway to a career as a professional accountant. Students graduating from the MAcc will be exempt from the CPA Canada Professional Education Program (PEP) and will proceed directly to the CPA Canada Common Final Examination, which is one of the final steps in becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant.

CPA Ontario is working with partners across the profession to launch a new CPA Professional Program in 2027—a modern path to becoming a CPA. It blends essential technical excellence in accounting and a strong foundation in ethics with real-world experience and future-focused skills that evolve alongside the demands of a world redefined by AI.

    Applicants are expected to:

    • hold an Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum overall average of B- (70%)
    • demonstrate coverage of the CPA Competency Map at the ‘Entry’ level
    • have a minimum grade of C- (60%) in each of the prerequisite courses (courses that meet the entry-level requirements of the CPA Competency Map) with a minimum overall average of B+ (77%) in the prerequisite courses

    • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 580] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) or DuoLingo [min. 86] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]
