Description:

The Master of Arts in TTESOL program (36 credit hours + thesis/project) trains students to teach those desiring to teach English to speakers of other languages. It presumes a level of competence in linguistic theory gained at an undergraduate level and concentrates on pedagogical concerns. The thesis/project allows the student to demonstrate the mastery of the discipline.

TESOL students will be able to articulate an understanding of the close relationship between language and culture as well as the basic elements of the English language and language teaching. They will be able to teach English as an additional language and demonstrate a basic understanding of the Christian worldview in the context of other worldviews. The core TESOL courses are offered both in the regular academic year and in the special Summer TESOL Institute. Each TESOL major option includes the TESOL certificate requirements.
