Description:

The Automotive Service Technician and Operations Non-Co-op Option is for international students who: want to complete a two-year apprenticeship technical training Diploma program for entry into the automotive service and repair industry, desire a position as a manager, supervisor, service advisor, or parts person in the automotive service and repair industry or want to earn the diploma as a pathway to a bachelor’s degree.

The Non-Co-op option of the Automotive Service Technician and Operations program provides international students with additional in-shop training time at BCIT for technical training, English, and hands-on skill development.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade11 Precalculus  or  Grade11 Principles of Mathematics 
English: two years of education in English in an English-speaking country with one of the following: English Studies 12 (50%) or English First Peoples 12 (50%) or Other acceptable BC and Yukon courses or 3.0 credits of post-secondary English, humanities or social sciences (50%) from a recognized institution or BCIT English Trades Entry Assessment (for applicants who have two years of education in an English-speaking country only)

Math: one of the following: Pre-Calculus 11 (50%) or Foundations of Math 11 (50%) or Workplace Math 11 (50%) or Other acceptable BC and Yukon courses or BCIT Math Trades Entry Assessment
