Description:

The BA International Management and South East Asian Studies (3 years) provides students with a strong grounding in international management, knowledge of business and management in Asia, and a focus on South East Asia. Students take courses in accounting, finance, managerial economics, marketing, corporate governance, research methods and international business strategy, together with specialist courses that draw on SOAS's knowledge of the historical and cultural context of South East Asia, and language courses. The unique programme aims to provide students with a conceptual understanding of core principles of international management and finance, together with the ability to apply this knowledge to real issues facing business and other organisations that operate in South East Asia.

Students have the opportunity combine the study of management and finance (with particular focus on Asia) with the study of South East Asia in a broader context, with the possibility of taking approved courses on culture, history, music, art, literature, politics, economics, law, or anthropology, taught in departments across SOAS departments, providing a rich inter-disciplinary learning environment. The programme prepares students for a career in management and finance in or with South East Asia. As the economies of South East Asia continue to expand, a knowledge of language and culture will be more and more of an asset in the world of commerce and international trade.
