Earn a master’s in physiology and pathophysiology and gain an appreciation of scientific method in the University of Manitoba’s immersive Physiology and Pathophysiology (MSc) program, which can serve as a foundation for further research, training and career opportunities related to medical physiology.

The master’s program is designed to be a research thesis-based and discipline-focused degree program covering four major areas of physiology and pathophysiology, specifically: respiratory-, cardiovascular-, endocrine, and neurophysiology, combined with a required 3 credit hour course in biomedical trainee skills to enhance the graduate student experience and increase success.

    To be considered for admission to the Physiology and Pathophysiology (MSc), you must have either:
  • a four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last two full years of study.
  • a three-year bachelor's degree, plus the successful completion of the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Medical Physiology and Pathophysiology with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last two full years of study.
  • Additional Admission Requirements:
      To enter this program, you must have the provisional acceptance of a qualified graduate advisor.
      As part of the department’s graduate student approval process, an advisor must indicate that they are able to provide at least the minimum level and duration of financial support most recently approved by a majority vote of Department Council members for an MSc.
