The main objective of this program is to provide students with a broad knowledge of major technical areas of Aerospace Engineering to fulfill the current and future needs of the aerospace industry. The major technical areas included in this program are aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), systems and control, and structures and dynamics. The courses cover fundamental concepts of science and engineering of aerodynamics, computational aerodynamics, digital control of physical systems, linear dynamic systems, linear optimal control, design of aerospace structures, dynamics of structures, and aeroelastic effects in structures. If students have taken MAE 150B, 171B, and 154B or equivalent in their undergraduate institutions, they can take other courses, approved by the Area Director, as a replacement. |
