Description:

Are you passionate about social equity and want to have a meaningful impact on disadvantaged individuals, groups and communities in a variety of social service settings?

As a social service worker, you assist clients in dealing with personal and social problems by delivering counselling, community services and social support programs.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, including English – any Grade 12 (C) or (U), or equivalent. Recommended courses include Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology – Grade 11 (M), Healthy Active Living Education – Grade 12 (O), Challenge and Change in Society – Grade 12 (M), Managing Personal and Family Resources – Grade 11 (C), Individuals and Families in a Diverse Society – Grade 12 (M), Issues in Human Growth and Development – Grade 12 (M), and World Religions – Grade 11 (M).
