Grads of this program earn two entry-level certificates. They have the skills to plan the sequence of tasks to efficiently cut metal; lay out, cut and fabricate structural steel; develop patterns or follow directions from blueprints and engineering drawings; rig, hoist and move materials; perform welds of various metals using diverse welding methods; tack weld, bolt and rivet components; assemble and fit metal sections and sub-sections; install fabricated parts in the final product; and test materials and equipment using state of the art techniques. Their diversity gives them a special ability to handle a wide range of tasks in an industrial setting.
