Description:

Memorial's School of Music, the largest in Atlantic Canada, is a vibrant community of performing and creative musicians, together with researchers whose work encompasses a wide range of interests across the spectrum areas of musical enquiry. Its graduate programs in performance, performance/pedagogy and conducting offer a select number of candidates professional apprenticeships in one of Canada's most vital musical environments. Its faculty are internationally renowned musicians and scholars who are as engaged in teaching as they are in practice. Alongside them, graduate students have unique opportunities to launch their professional lives through concentrated study and internships. In addition to exceptional performance opportunities, students have the opportunity to work within research environments centred around two Canada Research Chairs in the areas of ethnomusicology and music technology.

    Bachelor's degree (first class) in Music. Applicants with other types of preparation should enquire with the School of Music regarding the likelihood of admission. Successful performance audition in candidates principal area of applied study. Successful completion of diagnostic exams in music theory, aural skills and music literature
