Description:

The areas of study broadly followed by all Mathematics Department students in the first two years are: mechanics, analysis, geometry, algebra, methods training, statistics, probability and computation. You will complete an individual poster project and group projects, as the course utilises a variety of teaching styles and assessment methods. In that respect the course is both theoretical and practical, equipping you with valued skills in group work and the communicative ability required to apply statistical theory to real world situations. You will learn about advanced statistical methods and theories, which are relevant to workplace practice and valued by employers.
