Description:

The Kinesiology Diploma offers a two-year full-time program where graduates will be equipped with a general knowledge of the many sub-disciplines of kinesiology. Students will have employability in entry level positions in the kinesiology field, as well as the option to continue their studies at a degree-granting institution.

Kinesiology is the study of all aspects of human movement. The Kinesiology program offers a wide variety of first and second year courses that will transfer into a Kinesiology degree-granting institution. Courses include anatomy and physiology, physical fitness and health, growth and development, biomechanics and injury management, individual and team sports, and coaching and sport administration.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants are required to have successful completion of one of the following: Grade 12 (with English 12 or English 12: First Peoples); or ABE/Academic Upgrading Advanced Certificate; or GED Certificate; or Grade 11, with an outstanding academic record, in the year of application. It is recommended that high school students take Physics 11 and Pre-Calculus Math 11.The Kinesiology program requires participating in various sport and fitness courses. Students are expected to demonstrate a willingness to participate in physical fitness and strenuous activities. Physical disabilities may not exclude you from successful completion of the Kinesiology Diploma.
Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80]
Application Notes : Applicants whose first language is not English are required to have a minimum TOEFL score of 80 (IBT), an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent as determined by College of New Caledonia, or have completed CNC’s English for Academic Purposes.
