Description:Studio art develops the student's creative potential in a wide range of visual media from printmaking to sculpture to digital imaging. The program aims to educate students in both the practical and theoretical aspects of the visual language and to provide a thorough background for those who will pursue research and careers in the visual arts or arts-related fields. Our department has developed programs that respond to the needs of a diverse student body interested in a wide range of employment opportunities. Our helpful and accomplished faculty have a sincere interest in helping students develop their skills and prepare them for rewarding careers in both traditional and modern fields of art.

Double Honours Programs may be taken in combinations of two subjects. In this program at least 36 credit units will normally be taken in each subject. For further details, please see the Academic Information and Policies section. Students who wish to complete a Double Honours in Studio Art and Art History must follow the requirements for that specific combination of disciplines. Students who are admitted to a Double Honours program (Studio Art and another subject) must be advised in both departments.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

  •  Grade12 Precalculus  or  Grade12 Mathematics 

Required Courses: Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30 (or equivalents) In addition to the Required Courses for admission, some university courses have a high school pre-requisite. Students entering the Bachelor of Arts program, or who are undecided about which program they are interested in, are encouraged to take Foundations of Mathematics 30. Students interested in the Bachelor of Science program are encouraged to take Pre-Calculus 30. Students can be admitted into this college with a mathematics deficiency but are encouraged to consult the college upon admission to plan how to clear the deficiency.
