Program Information

School:Redeemer University College
Field of Study:French Language and Literature, General
Description:French not only has an important role in Canada, but it is also used widely across Europe, Africa, as well as in other parts of our world. At Redeemer, you will be prepared to interact confidently with Francophone cultures both at home and abroad. What distinguishes French at Redeemer is our commitment to help you as an individual to develop your gifts so that you will be better equipped to serve and interact, both linguistically and culturally, with whomever God chooses to put in the path He has prepared for you.

Our small class sizes allow you to work closely with your instructors in order to maximize the development of your speaking, listening, writing, and reading competencies in French. As you develop your language skills though course work, you can take advantage of the friendly and helpful monitors in our newly updated language lab, as well as participate in a variety of extracurricular social and cultural activities in French. If you so choose, you can then cap off your year studying off campus through the government-funded Explore Program. This five-week program allows you to familiarize yourself with francophone culture while honing your language skills studying French in Québec or in another part of French Canada.
