Description:

The Computer Systems Technology – Networking (Co-op Fast Track) program is designed for you if you are a college of university graduate seeking speedy entry into the field — with the added benefit of work experience prior to graduation. Qualified college or university graduates from relevant programs will gain direct admission into year two (semester three) of the three-year program and receive their Technology diploma in two years (four semesters). This School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science program prides itself on offering an ideal balance between hands-on experience and theory. As such, you will develop technical expertise in areas that include: Wireless communications; Data Centres/Clouds; Network design, management and troubleshooting; VoIP; Network security; Windows/Linux System Administration and Management; These topics will be taught in purpose-built labs equipped with state-of-the-art testing and measurement equipment. The facilities will allow you to delve inside PC hardware and learn the intricacies of operating systems; explore the latest in computer systems and networks technology; and assemble and maintain systems that will empower users in creative, business and communication activities.



The combination will ensure that you develop a solid foundation in network design, management and troubleshooting as well as project management, which will be great preparation for your future career in addition to the co-op portion of the offering. During this aspect of the program, you will enhance your education by working as a paid employee in the field. This experience will allow you to put classroom learning into practice and also provide valuable contacts for future careers.
