|The Community Development Program at Brescia will provide you with a solid grounding in the principles, practices, methods, laws, and policies relevant to community development. You will be involved in placements or projects in the community as an interactive component to your academic study. You will be given opportunities to learn and apply community development skills in real world settings. Finally, you will have the opportunity to expand your study to the global community, if you wish to.
Note for 2024: Brescia University will merge into Western University, beginning in May, 2024. Read more about the strategic integration on the Brescia website.

Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 1.0 from Sociology courses at the 1000 level, plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%. Anthropology 1025F/G is recommended.
To register in this module, students are required to submit a Community Development Application Form by February 28 (late applications will be considered at the discretion of the program). Because of the community placement requirement of this module, each student who has applied to the program will be interviewed for suitability for admission. Normally, interviews will be completed by March 30, with interviews prioritized by year of each student's program (e.g., students entering 4th year will be interviewed first). Enrolment in this module is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to transfer into this module will be offered enrolment. Priority will be given to students already registered at Brescia.
