Welcome to the Child and Family Studies (CHFS) program within the School of Human and Social Development at Nipissing University. The Child and Family Studies Program is unique with a particular focus on two thematic areas of study: 1. Human Development and Learning; and 2. Child and Family Well-Being: Issues, Services, and Social Justice. Students can pursue a General or Honours program of study.
You are intrigued by child development, psychological growth cycles and learning about the philosophies, principles and essentials that lead children to becoming healthy adults. You have a particular interest in examining family structures and what they require in order to succeed. Further, you want a career within social and community services and have a real appetite for social justice and making a significant difference.
This program is eligible to be paired with our concurrent education option for students interested in earning their BA and BEd.
