|Description:||Students may complete a doctoral degree in History with focus on Ancient History by fulfilling the requirements of the PhD Program in History under the supervision of a professor in Classical Studies, which includes writing a dissertation on a topic in Greek and/or Roman history.

Test scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based), or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 are required. Admission requirements include, normally, an MA degree in history and a BA degree in history with a minimum CGPA of 3.3. Applicants for a PhD in Ancient History must have reading proficiency in Greek and Latin plus one modern European language (in addition to their first language). Applicants for other areas of history, e.g., Russian, should also have a reading knowledge of languages needed for research purposes.
