Students experience a theatre program on the caliber of those found at a much larger university. SVSU offers student-directed productions, and incoming freshmen have the chance for main-stage involvement in the areas of acting or technical production. A year-round performance schedule is maintained, with eight shows produced per year. The Department offers trips to, and encourages students to participate in the American College Theatre Festival and the National Alliance for Theater Education conference.
