Description:

Mental illness affects one in five Canadians, that's the equivalent of 200,000 Nova Scotians (Canadian Mental Health Association). The Mental Health Recovery and Promotion program prepares you to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team promoting mental health and recovery for individuals of all ages affected by mental illness.

You'll be prepared to work in a variety of work settings that support persons living with mental health issues - district health authorities, community outreach, transition teams, addictions services, employment and education supports, non-profit agencies, social clubs, group homes and other residential facilities, or services and peer support environments.
