Ours is the age of the image. Whether still or moving, the image is everywhere, providing information, entertainment and sensation for a multitude of audiences. In this program, you will be introduced to a broad range of tools and techniques for the generation of digital images for output to both screen and print media, integrating digital photography and software tools as well as traditional artist’s media.
You will explore a variety of subject material using the classical design process, and gain an understanding of both the historical origins of imagery, as well as contemporary approaches to develop your own content for specific audiences. Assessment of the form and content of visual images will assist in the development of your critical thinking skills and lead to increased an appreciation of contemporary issues in photography, art, film, and animation, as well as enable you to assess and reflect on both your own work and that of others. |
