International Law with International Relations (L.L.M.)

University of Kent - Kent Law School (Canterbury Campus)

Degree:Master
Field of Study:International Law and Legal Studies (Graduate Level)
International Relations and Affairs
Length:1 Year(s)

Description:

Despite their close relationship, international law and international relations have traditionally been taught as discrete subjects. This LLM programme is based on a recognition of the need to allow each discipline to be informed by the other. The programme covers the general methods, scope and theories of international law, international humanitarian law and international relations.

The objective of the programme is to provide a detailed understanding of the role, potential and limitations of public international law in international affairs. For some, this will enable an undergraduate specialization to be developed. For others, it will enable knowledge of other fields to be applied to international law and international relations.

The programme’s interdisciplinary approach is particularly suited to those involved with, or hoping to work for, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, foreign affairs departments and international law firms.
